Modern Day Slavery Act
MODERN SLAVERY POLICY POLICY STATEMENT
We recognise that modern slavery is a heinous crime and a violation of fundamental human rights, manifesting in forms like slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, and human trafficking. These acts deprive an individual's liberty to exploit them for personal or commercial gain. At St Luke's Healthcare Professionals, we maintain a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and are devoted to acting ethically and with integrity in all business dealings and relationships. We're committed to implementing and enforcing robust systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery is not occurring in any part of our practice or supply chain. We also strive for transparency in our business and in our approach to eradicating modern slavery throughout the supply chain. We expect the same high standards from all contractors, suppliers, and business partners. In our contracting processes, we specifically prohibit the use of forced, compulsory or trafficked labour and demand that our suppliers uphold these same principles. This policy applies to everyone working for or on behalf of St Luke's Healthcare Professionals, including employees, directors, agency workers, volunteers, contractors, consultants, and business partners.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE POLICY
Our Procurement Department is responsible for ensuring compliance with legal and ethical obligations, while the Group Purchasing Director handles daily responsibilities for implementing, monitoring, and auditing this policy. Feel free to raise concerns about any suspicion of modern slavery at the earliest possible stage. We encourage openness and support those who raise genuine concerns in good faith, even if they prove to be mistaken. We're committed to ensuring no one suffers detrimental treatment for reporting their suspicions, and if you feel you have been treated unfairly, please inform your manager immediately.
COMMUNICATION AND AWARENESS OF POLICY
Training on this policy and the risk of modern slavery will be provided where needed. Our zero-tolerance approach must be communicated to all relevant parties at the beginning of our business relationship and reinforced thereafter.
